Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Talkz account at any time. This page explains how to delete it from inside the app or by writing to us, and exactly what gets removed.

1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)

1. Open Talkz and sign in.
2. Tap the profile icon (bottom right) → Settings.
3. Tap Account → Delete account.
4. Confirm. The deletion runs immediately.

The app will sign you out as soon as the deletion finishes.

2. Delete by writing to us

If you cannot access the app — for example because you lost access to the email used to sign in — send an email from any address to support@talkz.app with the subject "Delete my account", mentioning:

• The email used in Talkz, or the Google/Apple account you signed in with.
• Your display name or @username, if you remember it.

We will verify ownership (we may ask for a piece of information only you would know, such as a description of one of your last conversations or your profile photo) and complete the deletion within 14 calendar days.

3. What is deleted

The following data tied to your account is deleted permanently:

• Your profile (name, biography, gender, birth date, country, languages, picture).
• Messages you authored in 1-on-1 chats and groups.
• Groups you created where you are the sole admin (those groups are also deleted).
• Blocks, reports and feedback you submitted.
• Push tokens and the analytics user identifier we held for you.

Some content may remain visible after deletion in the following limited cases:

• Copies of messages already delivered to other users' devices. We delete our server-side copies, but content already cached on someone else's phone is outside our reach.
• Encrypted backup snapshots may keep your data for up to 30 days before they age out.
• Anonymized aggregate analytics (event counts) may persist; they do not identify you personally.

4. After deletion

Once deletion completes, signing in again with the same email or social account will create a new, empty account. We do not keep a soft-delete or undo window.
